This story was published in the Barcelona Review in 1999. It’s about a young prince becoming king, proroguing parliament, and starting to behead the now-aged tabloid editors from the past. (I resisted the temptation to rewrite - my prediction of Prime Minister Portillo didn’t exactly happen).
